We
have met with overwhelming response from parents, teachers and the
medical community. Here is a sampling of some of their comments.
•I loved the movie and how much it unfolded.
I really didn't know much about ADHD so as an educator it has opened
my mind tremendously. I liked the frankness of the families - this
documentary has the potential to help so many...Could you do a follow
up movie on the same subject, say showing them 2 years down the
road... very warm and moving.
- Educator, Mary Ward C.S.S., Scarborough
•That was a beautiful film! I also learned
so much. My sister thought her son might be ADD, but after I saw
your film I can inform her and have her watch it on TVO. Congratulations!!!
That was so great!
- Rebecca S., Audience Member
•I could relate to several episodes your
family has struggled with. Thank you for sharing your work I know
it gives me hope for the future.
- Larry N, Toronto Playback Magazine
•Congratulations! Very brave, poignant, humourous and informative.
- Sivia M., Toronto CBC Radio Metro Morning
with Joe Solway
•Fabulous production - really communicated
with insight the various perspectives of the children/youth and
those they live with.
- Amy S, Toronto Catholic District School Board/Council
for Exceptional children, Ontario Sub-Division for Learning Disabilities
•I was overwhelmed by the number of parents
that attended the premiere screening. It amazes me how large the
number of children with ADHD and associated emotional and learning
disabilities are. And yet our education system lumps them all in
together with children whose brains process differently and an education
program geared for them. No wonder our kids are so frustrated. I
have lived with an ADHD son (now 13) who is extremely low functioning
emotionally and socially. Life has been a battle for us. We have
had to fight for every bit of help and support we have ever gotten
for our son. And it never ends. But I have HOPE that someday we
will get him the support he needs and I have FAITH that the system
will change.
- Louise R., Parent
•Wonderful eye opener.
- Franca G., Toronto
•This 'hit the nail on the head' - wonderful.
- Sheri O., Toronto Thank you!

•As a teacher, mother of ADD daughter and
ADD sufferer myself. Wish I'd seen this film when I was a kid -
so that I could have understood myself and reached my full potential
- with more happiness and less distress/mistakes.
- Linda
•Excellent work and very enlightening. Heard
of Ritalin and ADHD but never understood them until now.
- Debbie S. Audience Member
•Well done. Pass on our appreciation to
the families for their bravery. There was a real undercurrent of
kids and parents vs. teachers. How do we get past the "bad" (insensitive,
inflexible etc) teachers? What about all the parents who don't have
Karen's gumption to fight the system, and who can't afford private
LD testing?
- John & Sherry T., Audience Members
•Congratulations. Excellent portrayal of
life with ADHD for children and families. Let me know if/when a
video will be available. I'd like to recommend it to the families
I see.
- Anna S., Hospital for Sick Children, Department
of Psychiatry
•Great film!! The kids were great! I learned
a lot and why my son tales so long to do his homework.
- Catherine K., Parent of 7 1/2 year old son
with ADD and learning disability.

I am parent of ADHD boy, advisor to students with
LD and ADHD at York University, and consultant to Toronto employment
centre that services with adults with LD (many of whom also have
ADHD)...Great Film. Well done!
- Jayne G-B., Toronto
•Thank you for helping me understand the
more emotional, subjective aspects of dealing with ADHD.
- Thomas C., M.D. Psychiatrist
•As a person diagnosed with it, and subjugated
because of it, I appreciate what you've done, it is a human gift
made to a cure by the workings of our world, ADHD people have some
of the most powerful humanity that many lack, it is said that most
are ashamed of it.
- Dave J., Audience Member
•This has told me that ADHD kids are not
bad on purpose but I'd love to know how to reach such students in
a regular class. I teach French second language in primary school.
- R.L., Toronto Catholic District School Board
•Thank you for sharing this with us. It
is nice to know we are not alone.
- Kim & Steve, Parents of 7 year old boy with
ADHD
•A most informative and excellent production
of a subject that is so little understood and so requires so much
work by parents teachers and medical personnel. Love is all-important
to these children.
- Valerie, Grandmother of an ADHD child
•The film inspired me to not lose hope.
I felt my wife and I are not alone in this parenting challenge.
Karen took a trial, a challenge and used it to love others - truly
what God wants us to learn to do more of. Karen truly inspires me.
- David R., Parent
•Wonderful presentation of people's experiences
with this difficulty and of the dedication and creativity of parents,
teachers, and others (medical people, horse whisperer, etc). A fair
and helpful discussion of medication as it is presently available.
- Dr Karen G., Student Support Services
•Great! I can't wait for the follow up film.
- Deirdre, Mother and Teacher Great documentary. Very Informative.
- Galip T., Medical Professional
